Usage

Comet is operated through a graphical browser interface, not a CLI. All interaction happens in the browser window via the Comet Assistant side panel.

Opening the assistant

Click the lightning bolt icon in the browser toolbar, or use the keyboard shortcut shown in the toolbar tooltip. The assistant opens as a persistent side panel visible on any page.

Minimal usage example: summarize a page

1. Navigate to any article or documentation page, e.g., https://techcrunch.com.
2. Open the Comet Assistant side panel.
3. Type the prompt:

Summarize this article in 3 bullet points.

Comet reads the current page content and returns a structured summary with cited points. No additional configuration is needed.

Agentic task example: research and compare

Open a new tab, open the assistant, and type:

Find the top 3 Italian restaurants in Denver with outdoor seating, compare their ratings and price range, and give me a table.

Comet navigates search results, visits restaurant pages, and synthesizes a comparison table without manual tab-switching.

Agentic task example: email workflow (requires Gmail connection)

After connecting Gmail in Settings > Connected Accounts:

Summarize my last 5 unread emails and flag any that need a reply today.

Comet reads your inbox, summarizes each thread, and highlights action items.

Agentic task example: booking workflow

Find a round-trip flight from Denver to New York for July 15-20 under $400 and show me the top 3 options.

Comet searches travel sites, compares results, and presents options. For actual booking, it will ask for your confirmation before submitting any form or payment.

Voice prompts

Click the microphone icon in the assistant panel to switch to voice mode. Speak the same prompts as you would type them.

Project memory

Open Projects from the sidebar to create a named workspace. Any research or context gathered in that project persists across sessions, so Comet can pick up where you left off.

Importing browser data

Go to Profile icon > Import browser data, select the source browser (Chrome, Edge, Safari, or Firefox), and choose what to import: bookmarks, saved passwords, browsing history, or extensions.
